Adults in a live LiLi session
Learn it. Live it.
Over a lifetime, we make millions of decisions. In the moment, most feel small. But together, they determine the direction and quality of our life experiences, our relationships, our health, our finances, our sense of ease or dificulty in the world.
Great decision-makers understand both themselves and the world around them, how their minds work, why they choose what they choose, and how today’s complicated world shapes those choices. Most of us were never taught any of that. LiLi is where we learn it, where we put it in practice and live it as, in time, it becomes second nature.
LiLi is TOCW’s applied-learning program for adults: online briefings, live workshops, and self-directed, AI-guided explorations rooted in our Curriculum for Living. The companion to our All We Need to Know podcast, LiLi delivers the real-world understanding that turns into the clarity that builds competencies and confidence.
The result is:
- Less guesswork.
- Better decisions.
- Less friction.
- Greater ease.
Why This Matters.
School taught us math, history, and science. It never taught us how to think clearly, choose well, relate well, care for our health, or manage our money, the things we actually spend our lives doing. This is the Preparation Deficit we talk about.
Most of us learn these skills the hard way: through trial and error — and at an unnecessary cost. Some of us never learn them at all. LiLi exists to address the Preparation Deficit head-on by giving adults the education they never received so they can flourish and teach our children well.
LiLi is for Adults.
LiLi is built for adults who want to navigate life with more clarity and less guesswork, whether that means making better everyday decisions, understanding their health, or building a healthier relationship with money.
Anyone looking to grow personally and make better everyday decisions.
Adults who want to model and teach what they learn.
Schools, micro-schools, and homeschool networks looking for a life-skills curriculum they don’t have to build from scratch.
The Model
While our All We Need to Know All We Need to Know podcast opens the door and our Curriculum for Living Curriculum for Living supplies the substance, LiLi is where the real learning happens: the same integrated body of knowledge — the CFL — delivered across a spectrum of formats built for awareness, exploration, application, and feedback. Active, practical, engaged learning rather than passive consumption.
Pre-recorded sessions that introduce the topic, establish its relevance, and provide suggestions for independent exploration.
Live sessions to consider attendees’ questions, insights, and experiences and engender deeper understanding.
An extension of the Symposia, discussions of LiLi topics and their real-life application continue in our online forums.
The First Three Series
Though LiLi’s first three Series — Decisioning, Choose Health, and Mind Over Money — may seem like three very different topics, you will find that they are actually highly interrelated and mutually impactful.
Become a more aware, intentional, and informed decision-maker, the conscious curator of your finite resources.
Read moreUnderstand how your body works so your health decisions are rooted in understanding instead of guesswork, hype, and hope.
Read moreFirst, explore your relationship with money. Then get your head around the ins-and-outs of financial decisions.

The quality of our lives is determined less by what happens to us than by the decisions we make in response to what happens.
Every day, we make thousands of decisions. Some are intentional. Most pass unnoticed, rooted in habit and triggered by circumstance. Individually, they determine how we allocate our finite resources. Collectively, they shape the direction and quality of our lives.
Decisioning is designed to help you become a more aware, thoughtful, informed, and skillful decision-maker — the conscious curator and guardian of your attention, energy, money, and heartbeats.
Together, we’ll explore how your mind works, why you think what you think, and why you do what you do in the ways you do it. You’ll learn to recognize assumptions, question the stories you tell yourself, think more critically, solve problems more effectively, and understand how your habits either serve you or sabotage you.
Central to Decisioning is becoming a capable self-educator. You’ll learn how to more effectively transform information into understanding, understanding into clarity, and clarity into confident capability.
Decisioning won’t tell you what to think or make your decisions for you. It will help you make them more consciously and with greater clarity. And that changes everything.

“We do what we do because of the decisions we make. But why do we make those decisions?”

Series I · Decisioning
Choose Health
We can’t effectively manage and care for something we don’t understand.
As we emerge from childhood, we are put in charge of the most sophisticated, intricate, integrated biomechanical system ever created. Yet we’re given no owner’s manual. Nor are we taught how it functions, what undermines it, or how to care for it intelligently.
For most of us, the human body remains a black box. Choose Health shines a bright light into that black box.
The Series begins with an accessible, non-technical orientation to human physiology — before we examine nutrition, sleep, exercise, stress, and other lifestyle habits. Why begin there? Because we can’t effectively manage and care for something we don’t understand.
That understanding gives you a reliable foundation for discerning whether the advice you receive, the article you read, or the health program you’re considering is actually aligned with the ways of human physiology, or rooted largely in belief, opinion, appearance, or marketing.
You’ll discover that the principles underlying health are surprisingly straightforward, coherent, and wonderfully logical. And you’ll come to appreciate how profoundly your daily habits influence your healthspan.
After Choose Health you will no longer make health decisions based on guesswork, hope, or hype. You’ll make them based on understanding.

Series II · Choose Health
Mind Over Money
Living is the continual process of allocating finite resources among infinite possibilities.
Money is one of those resources. However, unlike time, attention, and energy, money is tangible. We can earn it, count it, spend it, invest it, give it away, and eventually leave it behind. As a result, our financial choices are often more deliberate than many of our other life decisions, though not nearly as deliberate as we might believe.
Rather than beginning with the nuts and bolts of financial management, Mind Over Money first explores our relationship with this uniquely enabling or constraining resource, and the cultural and psychological forces that unconsciously influence how we create it, use it, preserve it, and ultimately allocate it. From there, we build a practical understanding of personal finances, insurance, investing, taxes, and financial planning, not necessarily to accumulate more money, but to use it more intentionally in service of the life we genuinely want to live.
Money, after all, is only one measure of wealth. How we earn it, what it costs us, and what it ultimately allows us to become matter just as much.
Mind Over Money won’t make you rich. It will help you become wealthier.

“Money is quantitative. Wealth is qualitative.”

Series III · Mind Over Money
On your schedule. At your pace. For a lifetime.
LiLi was intentionally designed around a clear understanding of how adults learn best.
Real learning doesn’t happen by simply consuming information. It begins with a meaningful reason to learn, grows through exploration and discussion, and becomes lasting only through application and reflection. Each pass through that cycle deepens understanding, strengthens capability, and prepares us for the next layer of learning.
To support that process, LiLi combines guided instruction, independent exploration, AI-assisted learning, collaborative discussion, and real-world application into one integrated learning experience.
Every Module begins with a concise, on-demand Briefing introducing the topic, explaining why it matters, presenting its conceptual framework, and preparing you for further exploration.
Watch or listen whenever it suits you, and revisit as often as you like.
Learning becomes personal through independent inquiry.
Using conventional resources and the AI tools of your choice, you’ll investigate ideas, compare perspectives, ask questions, and deepen your understanding.
The goal isn’t memorization, it’s realization.
Each Series includes live online Symposia where participants examine ideas together, compare experiences, test assumptions, ask questions, and learn from one another.
The objective is broader awareness, clearer thinking, deeper understanding, and experience-based feedback.
The live Symposia are recorded and are available for review at any time.
Understanding becomes valuable only when it affects how we live.
Each Series has an ongoing online community where participants continue exploring ideas, sharing experiences, asking questions, and supporting one another as they apply what they’ve learned in everyday life.
Learning continues, compounds, and becomes part of who we are.
LiLi is offered on a tuition basis, reflecting the guided, high-touch nature of its Briefings, Symposia, and ongoing community, while also helping support TOCW’s nonprofit mission. Whether you participate individually or as part of an educational institution or organization, LiLi is designed for you.

Portrait of Jonathan Cleary
One question has intrigued Jonathan for a long, long time: Why do we make the decisions we make?
Trying to understand what humans do, and why, led him to explore psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, behavioral economics, education, health, finance, and other relevant disciplines, not to become an expert in each, but to understand their essentials and how they fit together.
An explorer, an entrepreneur, a lifelong learner, and a teacher at heart, over time, Jonathan realized that good decision-makers aren’t necessarily the smartest people in the room. They recognize that expertise isn’t usually required. Basic understanding is. They know how to ask revealing questions, think critically, make intelligent use of others’ expertise, and continue learning throughout life.
To that end, he created the Curriculum for Living, the foundation from which all of TOCW’s learning experiences are derived.
The founder of TOCW and the voice of our All We Need to Know podcast, Jonathan’s gift is helping people see themselves, the world, and their place in it more clearly, raising awareness, simplifying complexity, and helping people make more conscious choices that lead to easier, richer, more meaningful lives.
